Evelyn Van Orden
Evelyn first used Smalltalk in December 1979 at Xerox Special Information Systems, and soon became Smalltalk Products Manager. In the early 1980's, she transferred Smalltalk-80 from Xerox PARC then engineered, documented, beta-tested, and in 1983 marketed The Xerox Smalltalk-80 System as the world's first commercial Smalltalk product. Evelyn left Xerox in 1992.

Exactly 20 years later, Evelyn was pleased to discover that "Smalltalk is cool again".

In 2012-13, Evelyn worked with PARC and the Computer History Museum on the Smalltalk History Project, then conceived and organized an event to celebrate 30 years since the commercial release of Smalltalk-80. The Smalltalk 30th Anniversary Reunion was held on June 10th at the Smalltalk Industry Council Conference STIC'13 in Phoenix, Arizona. Evelyn's multi-media program combined 14 talks by Smalltalk pioneers with videos, original artwork, and music created by Smalltalk pioneers.

Currently, Evelyn is Founder of Smalltalk Foundation, an international not-for-profit organization whose mission is Smalltalk * Technology * Education. Evelyn has a BS in Computer Science from the University of Southern California.
